Here’s some unexpected and potentially unsettling news for Texas Chain Saw Massacre fans. Developer Sumo Nottingham announced today via Twitter that the studio will be moving on from the project. According to the tweet, the Sumo team will be working with the next developer to make sure things transfer smoothly and players aren’t impacted by the change. The announcement does not state who the game's new developer might be.
The departure was confirmed by publisher Gun who replied to the initial tweet with thanks. Gun has not stated who the new developer is either, instead responding to queries by telling players to “stay tuned” and noting that they’ll “talk about the future next week”.
On behalf of the entire team at Gun, we want to thank you for your hard work and dedication in the development of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

Understandably, players are concerned. Gun is fielding messages from players worried about what this means for the game’s future. In response, the publisher has directed players back to the original announcement and stated that there is “nothing to be scared of”.
